A lot of commercial centers, shopping malls, and entertainment spaces can be found in the Sepad zone in Mashhad city. A new commercial center called City Star consists of commercial stories and parking stories on top. In the gap between these two parts, there is a kidzania and a fanfair. Interior design was the topic of the competition in 2015, and our alternative project ranked first out of 10.
Our project revolved around two basic questions:
1. When people are at the fanfair, what do they see?
2. Where can people see the fanfair?
Our suggestion was to see the fanfair as a tree. Therefore, it can break ceilings. With its branches and roots, it grows through all the building stories. The red tree creates a consistent space in addition to creating different spaces around it, such as the entrance, sitting
areas, and iconic stairs. By moving through ceilings, walls, and floors, you can access a sculpture pool and many other spaces.
In this project, the red color was chosen because it creates a more active space for kids.
Due to the glass ceilings, the main voids, and active bridges, the space is full of light, and the red fanfair tree can be seen all around the project, as well as when people are moving through the stairwells or sitting in cabins.
